10/15/00
Well - the Captain appears to be an optimist. This morning, the swells have increased. The pools on board look like wave pools and are closed. Walking is a test of balance and adaptation. Personally, I find it kind of fun. I'm sure the "patch people", those that are prone to motion sickness, have been tossing cookies all night long. Miranda seems much better this morning, which is encouraging!

Off to Scoops and the Topsider buffet for waffles this morning.

After breakfast, we picked up some motion sickness pills and wrist bands for Miranda. Alex went off to the Oceaneer's Lab for fun. Miranda also went to the lab for an hour and then back to the room for a rest.

Arlona & I took advantage of the rocking ship by going in the adult pool, the only open pool. It was transformed into quite a nice wave pool with 3-5 foot waves.

After a warm-up in the hot tub, we changed, grabbed a light lunch & took the kids to see the movie Dinosaur at the Buena Vista theater. The ship is still rocking.

After the movie, the kids went off to do their things again - Alex making computer-generated postcards and Miranda to design a marble race track. Arlona & I went back to the pool and to lounge on deck.

This evening featured he Captain's cocktail reception and a formal meal. Arlona wore her new blue velvet gown and looked fabulous. I had on my tux and formal Mickey tie & cummerbund. We enjoyed a drink and appetizer at the reception and got a series of photos taken - all for purchase, of course.

Dinner at Lumiere's was wonderful French cuisine. We feasted on twin lobster tails and other tasty treats.

Alex & Arlona hit the dance floor at the family dance party, Miranda, who was still working on calming the effects of constant motion, opted to sit it out & enjoy the show.

Returning to the room, we discovered this towel creature waiting for us. His eyes are the same mints we usually find on our pillows each evening.

After dancing, Alex joined the Oceaneer's Lab for fun & games. Arlona, Miranda & I watched the production show, Hercules, the Muse-ical. Basically the same show as our last cruise on the Wonder, it was still entertaining & upbeat.  Minnie was out before the show.

After the show, Miranda just wanted to relax in the room with a little TV. Arlona & I had great fun watching Michael Harrison perform his comedy/magic/juggling/ventriloquism act. We then picked up Alex, grabbed a quick slice of pizza for both kids and returned to the room. Miranda was out cold on the lower berth. Arlona was even able to get all the barrettes out of her hair without waking her. I guess her choice to return to the room was a good one,

Alex downed the pizza and we called it a day.
