10/16/00
Sleeping in to 8:30 was a treat today. The ocean was smooth and the ship was steady. We got a nice buffet breakfast at the Topsider Buffet. The kids went to their clubs & Arlona & I went to a cooking demonstration - desserts! They made Pavlova, a meringue dessert served with whipped cream and fruit. Topped off with a glass of Asti, it rounded out the morning nicely.

After that, we got the kids and went swimming. We were out for a couple hours and grabbed a quick lunch on deck. The kids enjoyed swimming and especially the slide.

Arlona & I attended an ice carving demonstration. The kids relaxed in the room. After that, Alex watched some TV, I took a nap on the deck and Arlona & Miranda conked out on the bed.

Dinner tonight is at Animator's Palate. This theme restaurant starts in black & white. As the evening and meal progresses, color start to appear everywhere until dessert, when everything is in full color. Quite a neat effect. As the colors come up, the wait staff returns, shedding their black & white vests for full color versions, marching in to music.

Our waiters, Sasha, from Croatia, & Romulus, from Romania, took great care of us for the entire cruise.

After dinner, we caught the comedy & juggling of Daniel Rosen and then went to the new production, C'est Magique. While not the best Disney production we have seen, it was still entertaining. The kids checked into their clubs. Miranda's group told ghost & pirate stories on the top deck and Alex's group was in the lab making flubber.

Arlona & I went to the "adult" performance of Daniel Rosen. We were disappointed as it was the same as the "family" version earlier so we left and strolled the deck, enjoying the lights of St. Thomas as we sailed by.

Another late night slice of pizza for Alex as we picked him up. Miranda opted to stay in the lab for a tad longer, drawing.  Alex also discovered what happens when you turn the sink on full-blast, as you can see below!

Tomorrow, St. Maarten!
