Wow, did morning come early today. The overnight forecasts for cool temperatures held true with temperatures in the high 40's this morning. Bright sunshine helped to warm things, but a brisk breeze kept us cool.

Scrambled eggs and hash browns helped wake us up before chapel.

We relaxed for a bit in the morning since everyone is tired, but trap shooting called at 11:15. The trap shooting area is beyond the rifle and archery range, on top of a hill overlooking 20 Mile Road. We used hand throwers and shot the pigeons with 20-guage shotguns. Garry, Arlona & Alex all tried and had fun, with the exception of sore shoulders from improperly placed shotguns.

After a lunch of Steak-um sandwiches, we headed for the rifle range for some .22 shooting. Garry brought along his .22 caliber rifle. Originally his grandfather's rifle, it is a vintage Winchester pump .22 built in the 1930's. We shot clay pigeons, pop cans, duck cutouts and paper targets.

After the rifle range, we headed for Center Lake's newest feature, the high ropes course. The course is platforms 20 feet up on telephone poles. Various types of cable crossings connect the platforms. The participant is harnessed to support cables and must cross from one platform to another. Miranda and Janelle both did a terrific job climbing all over the course. Above the platforms is a second deck of platforms. These will be connected to the original course via a climbing wall and over greater challenge at nearly 40 feet off the ground.

We enjoyed a fried chicken dinner and relaxed before evening chapel. For a day that was predicted to be the cold day of the week, we really got lucky with mid-60's temps and brilliant sunshine all day.

After chapel, we had a roaring campfire and more smores. Good company around the campfire may for an enjoyable evening. A clear sky and full moon made it all the more pleasant, even if it was a bit cool.
