2003 04-06 The plan for today called for the Magic Kingdom.
And sweating. High 80s and humidity made for a hot and sticky day. We started in Tomorrowland and did the usual rides – Buzz Lightyear, Alien Encounter the elevated people mover and Space Mountain. Lines were not bad, 30 minutes max. We also hit the Indy cars, still a favorite with both kids.
We grabbed lunch at the Terrace overlooking the castle.
We headed to the left side of the park and Frontierland. We made a trip on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster and then down Splash Mountain. We also visited the Haunted Mansion, Hall of Presidents and caught the daily parade. In Adventureland, we sailed with the Pirates of the Caribbean and also on the Jungle Riverboat.
To finish the day, we went back to Tomorrowland for another go at Space Mountain. Miranda & Garry hit the Indy cars one more time and Alex & Arlona flew the Orbiter.
Overall, the Magic Kingdom felt old. While there has been some minor updating of some of the rides, there really is nothing new. If you have been to the Magic Kingdom in the past 10 years, you have seen everything. There is still a ton to see and do, especially for the younger crowd, but it sure would be nice to see something new. Did I mention it was hot? We were all whipped by the end of the day so we picked up dinner and ate at the house. |
