2003 04-08 Well, it is our last day, so we want to make the most of it. We hit Animal Kingdom in the morning. The line was short for It’s Tough To Be A Bug, easily Disney’s best 3D effort.
Two rides on the Time Twirl, a new roller coaster kept us going. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed with the ride. It is a cross between the old Wildcat at Cedar Point and the teacup ride, combining 90-degree and 180-degree turns with a spinning car and some hills thrown in for good measure.
The Dinosaur ride was much better, reminding us of the Indiana Jones ride at DisneyLand. We took the Asia walking tour and the African Safari ride. I recommend the Safari ride. You get to see lots of animals and I was impressed with the environment Disney has created.
We saw what we came to see, so we drove to MGM, parked and caught the bus to Epcot.
We revisited Spaceship Earth and the Test Track. We caught Body Wars, which we had missed earlier. Like Star Tours, this motion simulator feels dated. We saw more cool stuff at the other side of Innoventions and headed for the busses to wrap up the vacation at MGM. The two items on the to-do list were the Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Roller Coaster. Since the Tower had basically no wait, we elected to knock off the roller coaster first. This was our longest wait of the entire week at around 45 minutes. We headed for the Tower, where the wait still held at 13 minutes – a nod to their 13-story hotel. We enjoyed our final ups and downs for the week. Since we still had some leftovers, we ate at the house again. After dinner, Garry returned the keys to the rental office lockbox, gassed-up the Explorer and on Arlona’s suggestion, picked up a surprise breakfast. We also said goodbye to our littletoad who greeted us every eavning at the door, feasting on the local insect population.
