Our stay in the twin cities was longer than expected, however, as the aircraft we were to take to Vegas had a stopped-up toilet. The mechanics worked on it for over an hour before they rerouted us to another aircraft. Three hours later, we landed in Las Vegas. Three hours in coach in a 757 in no fun. Leg room is acceptable if you are under 5'8" - I'm not. We checked in to the Excalibur - a large medieval castle on the south strip. By large, I mean LARGE! This place has 4,000 rooms. The theme is carried out well throughout the castle. We grabbed dinner at the Sherwood Forest restaurant at the hotel. We then walked south to the Luxor, a 30-story black pyramid, and north to New York New York.
Here is a look at the south strip. The Excalibur is hidden by the trees.
