Las Vegas is the world of the buffet. When in Rome... We ate at breakfast at the Roundtable buffet at the Excalibur. This was the day to walk the strip. We crossed the street to the Tropicana for a free pull on the $10 Million slot. We didn't win, but Arlona did win a free deck of Tropicana playing cards. Woo hoo! We walked north to the MGM Grand. Amazing place - around 5,000 rooms. On this corner of Tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd, there are nearly 20,000 rooms counting the MGM, Tropicana, New York New York, Excalibur, Luxor and the soon to open Madalay Bay. We moved north from MGM to M&M world and the World of Coke. We walked north on the strip and crossed over to Caesar's Palace. We walked around the hotel including the Forum shops. We had a great lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. On to Treasure Island for the naval battle and the Mirage for the volcano eruption. Pretty cool shows and all for free. We walked back to Bally's and hopped the monorail to MGM and called it a day. About 10 hours of walking & exhausted kids. |
