Day 3

Home Up Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4-5 Day 6-7 Day 8

Day 3 is when we really saw progress.  The sand arrived and the dirt was trucked away.

Once the hole was completely excavated and rough-filled with sand, they rolled out the wall.

You have to have about half the water trucked in so they can set the liner.  They use milk trucks.  This driver arrived early to see where the site was located.

Once the walls were up, the long job of hand trowelling the bottom began.  It took about three hours and the light was fading...

How do you get the last little bit?

Once the bottom is trowelled, they roll the liner over the top and tape it to the sides.

Then the water flows!

Filling the pool is constant work.  The liner stretches, but you are always releasing tension on the liner by pealing off the tape and reapplying it.  You can also help the stretching process with creative acrobatics...

17,000 gallons later, at about 11:30pm, we were done for the night.
