Well - we decided to take the plunge this year, literally, and installed an
above ground swimming pool. We did our homework and checked out the pools
and vendors. We talked with pool owners. There seemed to be one,
underlying theme - everyone installed the biggest pool they could, or wished
they had installed a bigger pool. Armed with that information, we opted
for Sharkline's new
33-foot round pool. It wasn't until we saw the walls up that we realized
that we were installing a small lake.
We purchased the pool from Aquarius
Pool and Spa

on Martin Luther King Blvd. in
Lansing. There were great to work with and we felt we got a good deal on
the pool. Our installation began on Wednesday, August 8. The crew
did a great job with the installation. They did minimal damage to the lawn
and took pride in their work. Click on the links to the left for the story of
the installation.
The short story:
Check out your pool vendor. Aquarius came highly recommended and for good
reason. They took a great deal of time with me and answered all my
questions, regardless of how stupid my questions were. Pool store folks
and pool installation folks have different stories about how long installation
takes. Pool story guy: "...a day or two..." Pool
installation guy: "...several days..." Who was right? The
installation guy. Expect delays and frustrations. They will
come. The end result, however, is worth the work.
