Stratosphere

Home Up Stratosphere Candlelight Chapel Freemont Street

The Stratosphere is a tower that rises over 1,100 feet about halfway between the strip and downtown Las Vegas.  On top is a roller coaster called the High Roller.  On the needle (not visible in the photo below) is a thrill ride called Big Shot.

We all rode the High Roller coaster. It's not fast, but at over 1,000 feet off the ground, the outside seats provide some thrill!

This is similar to the "up" side of Power Tower at Cedar Point.  You get on at the base of the needle on top of the Stratosphere.  After a brief adjusting period,  you get shot 160 feet up the tower on about 2 seconds.  Pretty thrilling since you can't see the building or anything else on the way up since you face away from the tower.   1,100 feet in the air & nothing but sky in front of you.

The view from the Stratosphere is spectacular.
